About Flour Girls

Flour Girls Baking Company was started by Jill Houck in 2007 in her home kitchen. For the first few years, FGBC was found at farmer’s markets and specialized in special orders delivered locally. In 2010, FGBC acquired a food truck, which still specializes in sweet, sugary items including their famous apple-cider donut holes. In the early years, “Soup Wednesdays” was a common event in Marion where quarts of Jill’s weekly homemade soups were available wherever the truck was located in town.

In December 2012, Jill opened her shop in Fairhaven, where FGBC remains today. The shop functions as a café serving breakfast and lunch with an eye toward healthy fare: homemade sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and juices made on-site. The food truck is frequently booked for such special events as weddings, corporate outings, breakfasts, etc. We remain a family-run business where many of the baked-good recipes are handed down from grandparents and where Jill’s husband, Jay, and children, James and Liam work both in the shop and on the truck.
